Adam Sleper

Adam Sleper is a professional writer and editor originally from Omaha. Adam earned a B.A. in English from University of Nebraska and an M.A. in English from Boston College, and spent a semester at Oxford University in England studying the medieval and renaissance eras, with an emphasis on Shakespeare. Adam is a Launch Pad Prose 100 and multiple Illinois artist grant recipient. As a screenwriter, he is a Page and Austin Film Fest finalist, and has had multiple scripts score top 1% on the prestigious Black List.

Adam’s passion is writing historical fiction/drama about amazing, largely unknown people/stories with prescient parallels to today—especially stories about outsiders and marginalized characters. Adam is currently querying agents with one novel, while finishing another novel manuscript. Adam has published work in Midwest Review, Literal Latte, and The Denver Post. He “moonlights” as a Tech Writer. He is a member of the Chicago chapter of the Horror Writers Association (HWA), as well as the Chicago Writers Association (CWA).

Adam lives outside Chicago with his wife--a civil rights attorney—their two amazing kids, and an adorable dog.
